Netherwood Appoints New Principal

Netherwood Academy, appoints new Principal Andy Downing, who is the current Principal at Outwood Grange Academy in Wakefield. Andy will start in his new role at Netherwood on September 1.

Rebekah Ramsden, regional director (secondary) for Astrea Academy Trust, said: “We are very excited to be welcoming Andy Downing to our school community at Netherwood Academy and look forward to the leadership and expertise he will bring.

“We are very confident that Andy is the right person for the job at Netherwood and will guide the academy into a highly successful future.”

Andy said: “I am delighted to be appointed as principal at Netherwood Academy and cannot wait to get started in September.

“I am very much looking forward to working with students, parents and staff to deliver the educational experience the community deserves.

“My goal is simply to offer the education that creates well-educated, well-rounded citizens ready to fulfil their potential.”
