Our pupils, their families and trust colleagues have been celebrating this week as A-Level results were being collected. Here are some snippets from some of the brilliant news we’ve had this week:
Astrea Academy Sheffield
Over 22 per cent of the academy’s grades were an A* or A; 51 per cent of grades were an A* to B, while 73 per cent of grades were an A* to C.
In particular, the school celebrates strong EPQ (extended project qualification) results where students have achieved the average grade of a B.
Students are going on to study a wide range of subjects including medicine, radiography, politics, psychology, game design and fine art.
Staff at AAS have worked incredibly hard to ensure their students were as prepared as possible for their A-Levels.
The extra support paid off, with many students achieving excellent results. Thanks to the hard work of both students and staff, there is lots to celebrate, with many students going on to take up places at university, or on an apprenticeship, as well as those who are entering the workplace.
Among the high performers at AAS, special mentions include:
Nadia Hamad who achieved AAAA* and Ariam Saleh who achieved AAAA*. They have been accepted by the University of Sheffield to study Medicine.
Aisha Ali who achieved ABC
Ismail Jalloh who achieved BBB
Nabilah Abubakar who achieved BBB
David Boyd, Principal at AAS, said: “Well done to all our sixth formers who have achieved a fantastic set of results – we are absolutely thrilled for our brilliant young people, who have worked so hard to get the results they deserve.
“A special mention has to go to the staff who have been such a support to the students. For AAS this is a momentous occasion as it is our first set of A Level results and with that comes a lot of nerves approaching the results day.
“We have had some excellent results and I hope our students are very proud of themselves and we wish them well whether they are heading off to university or starting their career.”
