Intake Primary School Joins Astrea Academy Trust

Astrea Academy Trust is today announcing that Intake Primary School has joined the trust, and will be known as Intake Primary Academy going forward. The academy becomes the sixth school in Doncaster to join the Astrea family, and overall, there are now 19 academies in the trust.

Established in 2015, Astrea operates primary, secondary and all-through schools in South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire. Although a relatively young trust, early results indicate the positive impact the organisation is having on education in the region, with this summer’s Key Stage 2 tests seeing a leap of 14 per cent on 2016’s results.

Astrea has the very highest of expectations when it comes to academic results, but the Trust’s aspirations far exceed the traditional concept of ‘schooling’.

Chief Executive, Libby Nicholas said:

“We are absolutely delighted that Intake has joined our family of schools. At Astrea, everything we do centres on our commitment to delivering an education that ‘inspires beyond measure’. We focus on academic excellence, supported by the broadest range of enrichment opportunities encompassing arts, sports, music, debating, leadership and the community. We look forward to working with the Intake team to ensure that every pupil has the best possible education throughout their time with us.”

Helen Broad, Principal of Intake Primary Academy said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to be part of Astrea Academy Trust.  We are very much looking forward to the future and the many opportunities for our children by being part of the Astrea family – we are committed to ensuring the best education for all learners -inspiring beyond measure.”
