Reporting to:                   Head of HR Operations

Location:                          South Yorkshire based with occasional travel to Cambridgeshire

To support our ambitions, we are seeking to recruit an experienced HR Manager to join the Central HR Team based in South Yorkshire.  You will provide a complete HR generalist service to the Academies and Central Team. This includes expert support on the full HR remit, including resourcing, employee relations and TUPE as well as playing an active part in a number of key strategic change and transformation projects.

Job Purpose

As our HR Manager, you will work with the Head of HR Operations and collaboratively with Finance colleagues and our Academy leaders to build sustainable, cost effective people structures, alongside promoting people management best practice to manage employees fairly and inclusively.

You will provide a variety of expert HR advice, guidance and support to enable the delivery of business objectives, whilst managing a small team of HR Advisors working across four distinct and diverse regional Hubs. The ideal candidate will lead and support their team to achieve its full potential in delivering a first class HR service to a portfolio of Primary and Secondary Academies. You will also support one of the smaller Hubs and the Central team with people challenges. HR expertise and leadership skills will be paramount in supporting the HR Advisors to build effective relationships with the Executive Hub Principals for the delivery of key objectives.

About You

We are looking for a Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD) Level 7 Advanced Diploma in HR Management/Development, plus a commitment to become a Chartered Member of CIPD.  You must be committed to working in genuine partnership with our Trades Unions colleagues on change management initiatives and complex ER cases and hold a strong knowledge of employment law. Experience of the challenges within the education sector is highly advantageous.
